Anti Wrinkle Injections

How does Botox work?
Over time we develop expression lines as a result of muscle movement, such as frowning. Botox is a purified protein, which when injected into specific facial muscles prevents the transmission of nerve impulses to those muscles. This reduces muscle movement and prevents lines and wrinkles from forming giving dramatically smoother skin.
How long does the treatment take?
After your initial consultation, the treatment time should take no longer than 30 minutes, dependent on the number of sites being injected.
How long does Botox take to work?
The results are not immediate, but you should start to see a difference within 5-10 days and the full effect after 2 weeks.
Are there any risks involved?
Side effects of anti-wrinkle injections are rare and it is one of the safest cosmetic procedures available.
However, the most common side effect, apart from bruising, is hibernation of the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid and brow. If it does occur, it is usually short-lived and can be treated with prescribed eyedrops.
How many treatments will I need?
The results of the anti-wrinkle injections usually last between three to four months, although this time frame will differ with each individual. To ensure the best long-term results, you will normally need 4-5 treatments per year although some patients are able to reduce their number of treatments as their muscles re-train.
After your treatment there is very little recovery time needed so you can carry on with your normal routine after your appointment.

FROWN LINES (GLABELLAR)
Frown Lines, otherwise known as Glabellar lines, are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows.
